WINNIPEG — As residents of Gaza, in the Occupied Palestinian Territories, brace for more violence in a mounting military attack by Israel, Winnipeggers gather to call for peace and justice.

WHO: Winnipeg groups and individuals
WHAT: Rally for peace and justice
WHERE: Manitoba Legislature
WHEN: Sunday, November 18, 3:00 pm
WHY: To support peace, and an end to Israel’s assault on Gaza

The remainder of the press release is below.

“Israel portrays its war crimes as self-defense, but, in reality, it is the aggressor, as it continues to make Palestinians suffer under repression, deprivation and military occupation,” said Damon Bath, who initiated the Winnipeg rally.

“We are gathering today to lend our support to Palestinians, who are once again under attack by the Israeli military regime,” said Bassam Hozaima, spokesperson for the Winnipeg Coalition Against Israeli Apartheid.

Added Hozaima, who was born in Gaza: “There can be no peace is Israel-Palestine without human rights, autonomy and an end to military occupation.”
